Story of Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H):
A Tale of Patience and Faith
Long ago, in a beautiful land surrounded by the sea, there lived a kind and gentle man named Yunus (also known as Jonah in English). Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H) was a prophet, someone chosen by Allah to guide people and teach them to do good. He loved Allah and always tried to do what was right. But the people of his city, Nineveh, were not like Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H). They did not listen to Allah’s teachings, and they did many things that were wrong.
The Mission of Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H)
Allah sent Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H) to the people of Nineveh to warn them. Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H) was supposed to tell them to stop doing bad things and to start believing in Allah, the one true God. He told them that if they didn’t change their ways, they would face a terrible punishment. But the people laughed at Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H). They didn’t believe him and refused to listen to his warnings.
Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H) tried and tried, but no one in the city would listen. He became very sad and frustrated. He wondered why these people wouldn’t change their ways. They were ignoring Allah’s message, and Prophet Yunus(P.B.U.H) felt like he had failed his mission.
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) Left the City
One day, feeling hopeless and tired, Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) decided to leave the city. He thought that since the people were not listening, there was nothing more he could do for them. Without waiting for Allah’s command, Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) left Nineveh and headed toward the sea.
When he reached the shore, he found a ship that was about to set sail. He quickly boarded the ship, thinking that he could escape his worries and leave everything behind.
The Stormy Sea
As the ship sailed into the open sea, something unexpected happened. Dark clouds gathered in the sky, and the wind started to blow fiercely. Soon, a terrible storm began to rage. The waves became huge, and the ship rocked back and forth. The sailors on the ship were terrified. They thought the ship was going to sink!
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H.) in the Sea
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) realized that this storm was because he had left his mission without Allah’s permission. He knew what he had to do. Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) told the sailors to throw him into the sea so that the storm would stop. At first, the sailors didn’t want to do it, but as the storm grew worse, they finally agreed.
As soon as Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was thrown into the water, the storm stopped. The sea became calm again, and the ship sailed away safely. But what happened to Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H)? He was all alone in the middle of the sea, with no land in sight.
The Big Fish
Suddenly, as Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was struggling in the water, something incredible happened. A huge fish, sent by Allah, came and swallowed Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) whole! But don’t worry, the fish didn’t eat him. Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was safe inside the belly of the fish.
Inside the fish, it was dark, wet, and scary. Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) realized that he had made a mistake by leaving his people without Allah’s permission. He knew that only Allah could save him now. So, Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) prayed and prayed inside the fish. He said, “There is no god but You, O Allah! I have done wrong.”
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) stayed inside the belly of the fish for days and nights. During this time, he prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy. He promised that if he were saved, he would return to Nineveh and continue his mission.
Dua Of Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H.)
Allah heard Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) ’s sincere prayers. He is the Most Merciful, and He forgave Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H). After days and nights, Allah commanded the fish to release Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H). The fish swam to the shore and gently spat Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) out onto the land. Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was free again!
Even though he was weak and tired, Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was very grateful to Allah for saving him. He knew that Allah had given him another chance to complete his mission.
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H.) Returns to Nineveh
After resting for a while, Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) returned to Nineveh. This time, he was even more determined to spread Allah’s message. When he arrived, something surprising happened. The people of Nineveh had seen the signs of Allah’s power. They had experienced a terrible storm, and they had heard about what had happened to Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H). This made them think deeply about their actions.
The people of Nineveh realized that they had been wrong to ignore Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H)’s warnings. They understood that they needed to change their ways and believe in Allah. So, they all came together, men, women, and children, and prayed to Allah for forgiveness.
Allah’s Forgiveness
Allah is the Most Forgiving, and He accepted the people’s prayers. He decided not to punish them and instead showed them mercy. The people of Nineveh were saved, and they began to live better lives, worshipping Allah and doing good deeds.
Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) was very happy to see that his people had changed. He continued to guide them and teach them the right way to live. The story of Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) teaches us many important lessons. It shows us the power of patience, the importance of trusting in Allah, and the value of never giving up, even when things seem difficult.
The Lessons We Learn
The story of Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) reminds us that we should always listen to the teachings of Allah and follow the right path. Even when we make mistakes, like Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H) did, we can always ask Allah for forgiveness. Allah is always ready to forgive us if we are truly sorry and if we try to do better.
And just like Prophet Yunus (P.B.U.H), we should never give up on our mission to do good and help others. Sometimes, things might not go the way we expect, but if we keep our faith in Allah, He will always guide us and help us through our troubles.
